'Bitch you ride the MARTA bus'

Posted by Andisheh Nouraee on Tue, Feb 5, 2008 at 5:50 PM

Southwest DeKalb High's drum majors have recorded a song and video about public transit in Atlanta.

Titled "Bitch you ride the MARTA bus," it's a heartwarming ode to bitches who ride MARTA instead of getting rides in cars.

WARNING: Not appropriate for most offices.

Uh, hated it. First, these misguided youths must understand, calling someone a bitch or a ho in a rap song is no longer cute. It's wrong. I wanted to give them points for being creative, but the lyrics continuously displayed a lack of intelligence. I strongly suggest these guys go back to the drawing board and challenge themselves; they have it in them to do better than this. OutKast's hits never contain anything straight out derogatory or degrading...well, not directly. You have to listen real close to catch the dynamic duos' real intentions. This song here is just more "dirty South" BS. I know Atlanta is going "green," but recycling the music is over the top. Plus, the second guy spitting rhymes (blue shirt, whistle hanging on a yellow string) looks a little too old to be in high school.

Actually.. The males who wrote this song (who happen to be friends/former school mates) wrote the song as a joke, a game, just something to do in the summer when boredom took over. Never was it their intent to have their song played on the radio OR on TV, just a joke to share amongst friends. So for you to "give them points" on being creative, its unnecessary, because it was meant to be a JOKE and the fact that you as well as others are taking this seriously is sad. Another thing, all the individuals in the video were their right age, in their right grade. Some people age faster than others or look older than others, lets not over analyze the situation.

MARTA songs are always great! My friend R-ah, Robert Smith who resides in Cobb County, actually wrote the original to the song called "MARTA Hoes." And there was also a remix that he did with J-Strap called "Get on the 87 Bus." (Shout out to Roswell Rd) Look it up on Limewire.

Sweet Jesus. I am so jealous of that name. Perhaps I could be Mr. Tittayballs? I could never be cool enough to own it.

ROFLMFAO!!!! XD All of that fantastic publicity and positive portrayal in the TBS show shot down the tubes in five and a half minutes. Way to go fellas! I'm sure your band director and parents (well, maybe that's presumptuous) must be incredibly proud.

Obviously it was meant as a lark. Not much effort was put into it. But, if these youths are ambitious, they will see the "buzz" this haphazard attempt has generated. Maybe they will be spurred to "put their back into" their next effort--one created with the purpose of getting that cash money. This type of building of buzz worked for someone else with ties to Atlanta: Soulja Boi. Everybody and their "cousin-nem" spent the summer trying to Supersoak dat Ho!
