The state House of Representatives approved a resolution that would allow Georgians to vote on a state Constitutional amendment that lets them levy a local-option sales tax to generate funding for transportation projects. The vote on SR 845 â which passed 136-35 â was immediately transferred across the Capitol to the Senate.
InsiderAdvantage reported Gov. Sonny Perdue told rural lawmakers last night that he would rally against the tax increase in the months running up to the November referendum.
