Bush "plans to call"

Posted by Andisheh Nouraee on Mon, May 12, 2008 at 3:31 PM

From Saturday's Washington Post. Emphasis mine:

"President Bush plans to call Chinese President Hu Jintao in coming days to seek his help pressing the Burmese government to accept more disaster assistance, U.S. officials said yesterday."

No hurry. There are only 1.5 million lives at stake.

Dale, I'm not suggesting Cyclone Nargis or the military dictatorship in Burma are Bush's fault. I was remarking on the apparent lack of urgency of the phone, as expressed in the story. More than one million people's lives might depend on speedy foreign aid.
