News Marietta racist insists he's not racist

A bar-owner in Marietta is selling t-shirts depicting Sen. Barack Obama as a banana-chomping chimp.
From AJC.com:
Marietta tavern owner Mike Norman says the T-shirts he's peddling, featuring cartoon chimp Curious George peeling a banana, with "Obama in '08" scrolled underneath, are "cute." But to a coalition of critics, the shirts are an insulting exploitation of racial stereotypes from generations past.
But don't call Mike Norman a racist!
Norman said those offended are "hunting for a reason to be mad" and insisted he is "not a racist."

Cause REAL racism involves stuff like violence. You know, it can't be racism unless it's COMPLETELY undeniable. To everyone, not just to the minorities. You can't trust that they know racism when they see it, no.. Oh, I'm not bitter.

I think the point is Obama's inexperience. Why is it ok to portray Bush as a chimp or Curious George but not Obama? Only because Obama supports treat him like Moslems do Mohammed; they will not stand for any critism of their prophet.

You're missing the point, Dale!!! The point is Obama's inexperience. This is not about race! Similarly, when I compare Mike Norman, the owner of Mulligan's, to a Klansman, I'm only implying that he looks terrific in white.
Why do you think they wore robes?Do you know how hard is is to look good in white pants?

Hey, no need to start disparaging a whole city of Marietta here. I thought that kind of attitude was what makes this thing so undesirable. With that said, there is always gonna be crap like this so it's hard for me to too get riled up over it. There are much more important civic issues to worry ourselves about than a few good old boys being good old boys.
Here it is 2008 and the good ole boys are still living in the past.anyway yo each his own just do come to Decayur whith that crap.
Marietta a great place to join the KKK. the earthquake happened a few thousand miles in the wrong direction.
