News If you outlaw turkey sandwiches, only outlaws will have turkey sandwiches

A friend of mine was ticketed on MARTA last week for sipping a beverage on a train.
He got me thinking — if I walk onto a MARTA train with a pistol on my belt and a turkey sandwich in my hand, I could only be cited by MARTA police for the sandwich.
The lobbyists for Big Sandwich need to get on this.

ugh - i carry a mug of coffee right past the breeze people every morning. frankly i'll pay the ticket rather than give up my caffeine. the irony of your final thought is noted and appreciated.
When I lived in DC they had a tough ZERO tolerance policy (still do, look for their 'rats in other subways posters'), it actually helped keep the trains cleaner and was mostly appreciated, but the fry girl was over the line. But seriously what world is this that we live in where we can openly carry a gun, but not a turkey sandwich on the trains...jacked up priorities.
I've been on several subways systems where food, beverages and even pets are allowed. They were no dirtier than NY, DC, and Atlanta (which do not allow food or drinks). Even if there are occasional food messes, so what.
