News PSC candidate Jim Powell gets his court date

Jim Powell's appeal has been scheduled for Monday, Aug. 4 at 3 p.m. in Fulton County Superior Court.
The Public Service Commission candidate was thrown off the July 15 primary ballot in an eleventh-hour disqualification Georgia Secretary of State Karen Handel, who overruled a decision by an administrative law judge that deemed he met residency requirements. A Fulton County Superior Court judge granted him a stay and he managed to pull in 85 percent of the votes in his race against Bob Indech. (Click here to view CL's rundown of the events.)

Everyone in Metro Atlanta who is either not working on MONDAY, AUGUST 4 or can get off by early afternoon should make it a priority to be at the Fulton County Superior Courtroom at 3:00 P.M. to support Jim Powell. He is the Democratic candidate for the statewide Public Service Commission of Georgia whose residency claim brought on by the biased Republican Georgia Secretary of State Karen C. Handel is a major issue to everyone who pays electricity, telecommunications and natural gas bills in the State of Georgia! She is trying to prevent Jim Powell from becoming the only Democrat on the current 5-member Public Service Commission that is, surprisingly, made up of all Republicans! Her constituents, who have done nothing but give Republicans a worse name and continued to cut backroom deals with lobbyists & utility company executives while allowing our utility bills to rise out of control! Give JIM POWELL your support on MONDAY, AUGUST 4 at 3:00 P.M. Your household will depend upon it in the months / years to come.
