News Bettie Page in ICU

OMG! Bettie Page – yes, that Bettie Page – is gravely ill after suffering a heart attack in Los Angeles over the weekend. A family friend even tells the AP that Page, now 85, is currently in a coma.
Once the greatest of all magazine pin-up girls in the '50s, Page was the inspiration for most girls you see who dye their hair black and wear bangs. (Silent film vamp Louise Brooks was the inspiration for the rest.)
But Bettie eventually got religion and disappeared from sight for decades. Even after she was tracked down by fans a few years ago, she's remained camera-shy. I've never seen a contemporary photo of her, and that's probably for the best. We'd all prefer to remember Bettie as she once was.
Still, I hope Ms. Page regains her health. After all the joy she's given the world, she deserves it.
