While the the red carpet of the Academy Awards may be over 2,000 miles away, Atliens can still satisfy their cravings for the Oscars with these events around town:

The Center for Family Resources is teaming up with Oscar Night America for a viewing party at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center. Tickets are $30, which includes one complimentary drink and a dessert. In addition, there will be a DJ with a dance floor and a photo booth, attire is red carpet chic.

The Andrews Entertainment Complex in Buckhead is holding a Academy Awards viewing party with a ‘hearty dinner buffet’ and an open bar (compliments of Cellar 56 and Czar Ice Bar) included in a $25 dollar ticket price. Cocktail attire is appreciated for the event.

Bar ONE tapas lounge is holding an Oscar Viewing Party with the Women in Film & Television (WIFTA) organization. A $10 dollar donation is requested for all non members of WIFTA, an there will be giveaways for guests all night long.

For the less Oscar-obsessed folks, the Plaza Theater is holding a ‘Skip the Oscars Night.” This will be “an evening of anti-hollywood and anti-copyright art” including “Hollywood Burn” and “short films by local culture jammers Adam Bruneau, Anna Spence and Bland Hack (Jamie Hawkins-Gaar and Julian Modugno).” There is a suggested donation of $6 to enter the event, which kicks off at 7:30 pm.
