Maybe Gov. Sonny Perdue, in Washington, D.C. this weekend for the National Governors Association's winter conference, has the flu. If so, get better and come home soon, sir! We wanna talk to you about this whole might-not-take-some-of-that-stimulus-money thingy.

Governors who say they won't take the money will likely be over ridden by their state legislature. Knowing that, they can stand on their convictions or create a campaign issue later without any real risk. the money is ocoming because no elected official in the Capitol wants to explain to his constituents why they aren't getting the stimulus funds for which they are paying through the nose. Kind of like me wondering why I get to pay for other peopls bad mortgage decisions.
