Georgia Public Broadcasting named a new executive director and president today to lead it into what are proving to be treacherous times for all media public media, included.
At today's bi-monthly board meeting, GPB named Teya Ryan to the position. She takes the reins from Acting Executive Director Bonnie Bean on April 1.

Ms. Ryan brings a wealth of broadcasting experience to GPB, having served as Executive Vice President and General Manager of CNN / US as well as Headline News and CNN fn. Ms. Ryan began her career in public broadcasting at KCET, Los Angeles and consulted for PBS on the design of a new digital cable network, Public Square, which launched in 2006. Most recently, Ms. Ryan led her own multi- platform media company, producing cable programming, theatrical films and childrens programming.Ms. Ryan will bring new energy and leadership to GPBwe couldnt find a better choice inside or outside of public broadcasting, says GPB Board Chair, Lowell Register. We need to think not just outside of the box, but we need to get outside of the boxMs. Ryan will be there to lead us.
