Helene Frisch is a fourth-generation psychic. Her great- grandmother was the personal psychic of the Russian Royal family, and they both share similar attributes. Like her great-grandmother, she specializes in personal and intricate feelings. She now receives 15-20 phone calls and e-mails a week and gives three to four readings a day, some lasting as long as two hours. She also gives what she calls "mini-readings" at corporate events, fundraisers and other festivals.
Could you elaborate on the feeling you got when you first became aware of your abilities?
Well, it was when I was four. It was very simplistic. Thats just how it is, but its the truth. I was sitting in the back of my dads station wagon and we were coming back from my grandmothers house and I dont know what hit me, but this feeling just came over me. It sounds corny, but from that moment on, I knew that I was protected and I knew that I was okay. I just stated to know things, and from there, it just became second nature.
So could you start predicting different things about people at that point?
Yes. I knew things, but even though youre four, you have a sense of what you should tell people and what you should not. Even though I was getting this information, a lot of it I kept quiet. Of course, I did let it rip occasionally!
Why do you believe that anyone can do the things you can do?
Because you have to remember that all this is just intuition. Its knowledge that we would all possess if we were to just listen to it. Because of that, I really dont think Im any different than you. If you were to go into a grocery store and something tells you to get a jar of pickles, and you dont know why youre being told, sometimes you listen to it and sometimes you dont. I think we all get these little hints of feelings. If you notice, theres a reason they come in. I had to start out just like anybody else. I would get small things, but as I listened to them, I discovered that they were very big things. It was very pivotal why I would get that information.
What do you usually see when you talk to a client? How does the information come to you?
I usually do all my readings on the phone because I concentrate better that way and the client is in their own comfort zone. There are no distractions. It takes me less than two minutes to start picking up stuff. I personally warm up with a tarot deck. You usually stay in a general reading for maybe 10-15 minutes and during that time the downwind is just crazy. You get all sorts of stuff. I am multi-psychic, so Ill get it clairvoyantly, which is seeing, clairaudiently, which is hearing or claircognizantly and clairsensically, which is feeling and knowing. To be honest with you, it comes like a rocketship. Its like youre on two different levels. You kind of have to bounce back and forth and scan your own intuition and see which one is coming at you.
Can you describe any interesting experiences youve had while giving a reading?
Oh, God! One was particularly poignant in my career. I was reading for a young lady who was recommended to me. She asked about her father. When I looked at him, I just said uh-oh! I just said to myself, Oh my God, how am I going to do this? I kept listening to her, and after about a minute I just decided to come out with it. If she tells me to jump in a lake, she tells me to jump in a lake. If she tells me to shut up, she tells me to shut up. I just went for it, and asked her Is your dad gay? She didnt really skip a beat. She just said You know, we were kind of wondering about that.
I saw something and said to myself He does not look like a normal, straight married man, so I spit it out and got a confirmation. That was early on in my career and from that point on, you never knew what was going to come out of my mouth. From now on, I just say what I feel.
Any final thoughts?
I think people have a really bad stigma of psychics. I have everyday stuff going on like everybody else. I just have channels. Its like Im working on two different realms: the normal realm and the other realm. I think Ive gone through just what theyve gone through, but maybe in a different level or a different way. Because of that, I think people eventually see me as a human being. Thats what its all about.
