(Updated) Clayton County Schools regain provisional accreditation

Posted by Thomas Wheatley on Fri, May 1, 2009 at 6:00 PM

Good news for the beleaguered school system. From WSB:

The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) restored accreditation to the Clayton County School District Friday.

But the district is still on a two-year probation.

SACS had yanked the 50,000-student district's accreditation, blaming much of the system's woes on a "dysfunctional" and "fatally flawed" school board.
