Sen. Johnny Isakson talks water, transportation, economy at APC

Posted by Thomas Wheatley on Tue, May 12, 2009 at 6:10 PM

U.S. Sen. Johnny "Sleepy Eyes" Isakson, R-Ga., spoke to the Atlanta Press Club today. Maria Saporta and the AJC's Kristi Swartz wrote great summaries of his talk and details on what he said about commuter and high-speed rail, water woes and the changing economy — which he says might take five years to recover. Isakson also said the closing of the Hapeville Ford Plant might have hurt the region's chances for the Atlanta-Lovejoy rail line.

Grayson Daughters was also there and has a video of Isakson's talk. Check it out below.

Sen. Isakson also talked tough on Iran/global response to Iranian nukes... as you'd expect a U.S. Senator to do. That's at the top of the video. Thanks for linking!

So now the Republican excuse for killing the Lovejoy-Macon rail line is the closing of the Hapeville Ford Plant. Why don't they just blame it on a lack of magical unicorn juice while they're at it.
