So wait... How is she not a racist? Oh, i guess since she is a minority, she can say one race is better than another at something. Forgot about the double standard. Oh, liberal "logic"...
Andisheh - Sotomayor has said nothing of the kind, of course, but since it's This Month's Faux Noise Talking Point, the WingNuts have to repeat it ad nauseum until the rest of us are nauseum. I met Newt in person once, 20 years ago, and am still trying to wash the ick off my hands...
"The word 'racist' should not have been applied to Judge Sotomayor as a person..." That's not an apology. That weird, stilted language is a verbal tactic designed to avoid guilt.
I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasnt lived that life, said Judge Sotomayor. Switch that to: I would hope that a wise white man with the richness of his experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a Latina woman who hasnt lived that life, said racist white guy. If the second was actually said, then yall would have your panties in a wad. Racist and unfit to serve would be the left's conclusion. Double standard, yeah. I guess I am basing the definition of "racist" off the standard liberal battle cry/excuse. Sorry. 1st Quote taken directly from nyt. http://www.nytimes.com/2009/05/15/us/15judge.html
Ryan, In your first comment you stated that Sotomayor "can say one race is better than another at something." When has Sotomayor said one race is better than another at something? Because the quote you included (which I'm sure we have all heard or read by now) in your second comment does not say that latina women are better than white men at making judicial decisions.
