The Hero of Time harks back to legend of Zelda

The phenomenon of fan films becomes more fascinating with every year. Outsiders probably associate them with the likes of the Star Wars kid awkwardly attempting Jedi movies, but as digital cameras and effects become cheaper and more sophisticated, the films become increasingly slick, like “Batman: Dead End” (which kicks all kinds of ass in less than 10 minutes) or “The Hunt for Gollum” (which has a buzzworthy trailer). Movies and TV shows aren’t the only inspirations for unauthorized, fan-made film productions, however. June 6 marks the world premiere of The Hero of Time, director Joel Musch’s feature-length fan film in tribute to the video game The Legend of Zelda. The Hero of Time plays at 7:30 p.m., June 6, at The Plaza Theatre. Here’s the trailer:
