Real-life lawyers and entertainment other than "Court TV" don't always seem to mix. Maybe all the ticket violations and possession charges have forever clouded our perception of the legal system. Or maybe it's simply the Perception of Crime.

Every other year the Atlanta Bar Association holds auditions for, writes, and choreographs a variety show to help fund the city's pro bono efforts. This year's show is called A Courthouse Line VIII: Saving Private Practice. Sounds exciting. And leggy.

The synopsis is pretty simple: A struggling law firm must merge with a larger, more scandalous law firm or face bankruptcy — unless an overzealous (and sometimes crazy) courier, Jack, and his dispatcher, Chloe, save the day. Expect kick lines, tap dancing, and other dance moves that "really defy description." $30. Fri. and Sat., 8 p.m. 14th Street Playhouse. 404-524-7354. www.14thstplayhouse.org.
