Short and sweet this week: I have one main recommendation for everyone. This Sat., June 13, from 8-11 p.m., Beep Beep Gallery will host the opening of Fear Kills Pursuit, the much-awaited sequel to Comfort Kills Pursuit, Michi Meko's solo exhibition at Eyedrum Gallery last summer. Comfort Kills was heady, brave, and dynamic. (See also Michi Meko's Br'er collaboration with Dosa Kim.) We expect good things .
Speaking of Dosa Kim, don't forget to check out his collaboration with local Sam Parker tonight, Fri., June 12 at Art Department's grand reopening. The Studioplex complex is a strange beast it's easy to get lost once you're inside, but it's still definitely worth the trouble.
Otherwise, I'll direct you toward the new America I AM show at the Civic Center, as well as the slightly "out of the way" photography exhibition in Peoplesville titled Taking it to the Streets. Where's Peoplesville? It's a tiny, tiny community between Turner Field, the West End, and Mechanicsville, another aptly named ATL neighborhood.
