Live blogging the Woodruff, right about now ...
Remember the A-Team? No, unfortunately, it’s not the one with Mr. T. We’re talking about former AJC critics Cathy Fox and Pierre Ruhe. The pair’s new blog, artscriticATL, promises a live blogging session beginning today, June 16 at 3 p.m. (now) covering the Woodruff Arts Center’s announcement of a new master plan.

The big, boxy Memorial Arts Building, opened in 1968, no longer meets the city’s basic needs.
Despite a face lift, it is still a bland piece of architecture. Worse, the concert hall is third-rate, the driving and parking options are poor, the concessions are awkward, the foundations and building itself is falling apart, and on and on. Still, we call it home.
I’m curious to see how this one rolls …. Too bad it probably won’t involve sticks of dynamite or machine guns with amazingly low accuracy.
