The 48 Hour Film Festival, along with a gajillion other things (Corndogorama, AthFest, STIR's debut at Woodruff Arts Center, Braves vs. Red Sox ... ) takes place this weekend. The 48HFF is pretty much exactly what it sounds like: Folks compete to produce a film from start to finish in 48 hours and then celebrate with a wrap party, premieres and screenings. The winners screen at SXSW and in Cannes. You can start your own team, join an existing one, or audition to star in one. Local community arts center WonderRoot is holding an open casting for its team's film this Thurs., June 25 from 7-9 p.m. at Eyedrum.
Here are some details about WonderRoot's open call. (And speak up if you know about any others!):
Actors must be available to shoot Saturday 9am - 2am at a locationsinside the city limits of Atlanta.
Food and a copy of the final product will be provided at the end of
the week. This is your chance to participate in an international film
competition (the winners of which will screen at SXSW and in Cannes), shoot a film with
just one day of work and add it to your reel in the same week.
