Gross-out story of the day

Posted by Asher Smith on Mon, Jul 27, 2009 at 6:40 PM

Can we add a file photo of a dog? Maybe one of the pit bulls we used with a past Vick post

We have virtually nothing to add to this story, highlighted by the AJC, calling attention to the plight of a Jonesboro man hauled into police custody for allegedly having sex with his dog:

Edwin Robles, 53, faces a felony bestiality charge, according to police. He was booked into the Clayton County jail in the early morning hours Friday, and was released around 9:30 p.m., according to jail records.

Robles is accused of performing the sexual act on his dog, named Chain, police said.

Police went to Robles’ home after receiving a tip from the Osceola County Sheriff’s Department in Florida, according to Lt. Rebecca Brown with Clayton police.

One wonders what that tip from the Osceola County Sheriff's Department must have consisted of. Although it strikes us that perhaps the only thing more shameful than being publicly charged with bestiality is to have enough of a reputation for such things that it follows you across state lines.

What happened to Scott Henry's post about this? I've been disturbed about the ranking of this story since yesterday. Two days straight, an article with no real detail is #1 on AJC.com. What's the news here? Where's the value? It's all shock.

Hey DM. The post is back up — thanks for noticing ;) We didn't want to publish two posts about the same subject in such close proximity. Mr. Robles alleged, um, act against nature has seen more than its fair share of attention. Yuck.

Uh huh, sure, you all say it's gross now, but just wait. Maybe in a few months or maybe in a few years people will be defending Robles and his right to marry his dog. Bill O'Reilly was right!
