News Biden to tour flood-ravaged areas; Perdue's in Panama

World renowned party machine and joker Vice President Joe Biden today will tour metro counties hit hard by recent floods:
Vice President Joe Biden will tour storm-ravaged parts of North Georgia on Friday as residents in five flooded counties begin to seek federal help for cleanup and recovery.Biden, joined by FEMA Administrator Craig Fugate and Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, will brief state and local leaders on federal assistance and will meet with families suffering the storms’ aftermath. His visit comes a day after President Barack Obama declared a major disaster in Carroll, Cherokee, Cobb, Douglas and Paulding counties.

Gov. Sonny Perdue got a first-hand look Thursday at the widening of the Panama Canal, a project that is vital to the planned deepening of the harbor at the Port of Savannah.The governor and Ken Stewart, commissioner of the Georgia Department of Economic Development, led a state delegation that traveled to Panama this week to check on the $5.2 billion project's progress.
Perdue and the pack return on Saturday. Granted, the governor's Panama trip was scheduled well before the floods began. And we hear Biden will only be in town for a few hours. But it makes you wonder what Jocular Joe uttered when he heard he won't have a face-to-face with the state's chief executive.

good for perdue, keeping his priorities in order. someone has to keep up critical georgia-panama relations! but after driving around the past few days to check out the damage, i think biden has already missed most of the action.
i do have this one HILARIOUS pic i could forward the VP. have u seen the one about kanye and the flood? u see, he does this interrrupting thing that has already become an internet classic that 20 forwarded emails only enhance...
I saw that Kanye pic and laughed my ass off. Whoever did that should be given an award!
that's the one. or at least one of the many iterations. that kanye is quite the rascal.
It is disappointing that Governor Perdue did not show up when so many Georgians were suffering. Not a very good demonstration of leadership by the Governor.
