Posted by Benjamin Fisher on Fri, Oct 9, 2009 at 9:25 PM

The organizers of the Candler Park Fall Fest announced that all four of Atlanta's front-running mayoral candidates — Lisa Borders, Mary Norwood, Kasim Reed and Jesse Spikes — will appear at the annual event tomorrow afternoon.

They will participate in the "Great Atlanta Mayoral Candidates Proclamation Throwdown." Festival organizers are calling this an opportunity for citizens to get to know the candidates in a more informal setting.

Best Campaign Donor Name so far: Grand Hustle, 541 10th St. $3600 to Kasim. Says it all, really.

Grand Hustle is the rapper T.I.'s record label. Welcome the new Hip-Hop mayor.

Why is Lynne Riley throwing a fundraiser for Lisa Borders? Lisa should be ashamed of herself. First, Tom Bell then Aaron Turpeau and now Lynne Riley...Borders is all over the place.

On second thought, Kasim Reed has been in the state legislature for 11 years and has been very effective. He's not confined to local politics and he's not the amateur Borders camp would have you believe he is. Paradoxically, he's the youngest, but the most experienced with the most political capital.

Why have Price Waterhouse partners and Coca Cola Enterprises execs given such huge amounts to Lisa? They must have big payoffs in mind - but what?

Why Lynne Riley (R N Fulton)? Cos Borders means Bidness. Any Atlanta taxpayer who votes for Borders, who pals around with bidness AND the cop union, has to be completely unable to discern his/her self interest.

@Sarah, if you're into avoiding Tom Bell candidates, note that he gave Clair Muller a grand, also. (I haven't checked Ceasar's disclosure yet.)

Republicans are all over the mayors race. Norwood has voted in mose Republican elections. Borders is chummy with No Fulton Riley and backed by Bell, who as head of US Chamber is fighting Pres Obama every chance they get. And Reed has numerous Republican supporters... SOOO who can do the job? Who has done any part of the job or adds value? Norwood like Campbell has the grassroot leadership tied up. Borders has the most business support. Reed has experience at state. I'm leaning Reed.. Atlanta needs not just a lady driving an old car or a Communications exec but a new perspective on working with the state and the region.

Kasim "Kwame Kilpatrick" Reed? Last thing Atlanta needs is a hip-hop mayor to run this city into oblivion.

I actually saw Reed at a debate, and was extremely impressed.
