If you're still on the fence about who to vote for in Atlanta's Nov. 3 elections — and there are plenty of you out there, we're sure — be sure to tune to PBA on Oct. 25 and on Nov. 1.

The Atlanta Press Club's wrangled candidates for Atlanta mayor and city council, forced them to stand at podiums, and allowed journalists to pummel them with questions.

Prerecorded APC debates for Atlanta City Council's three At-Large posts will air Sunday morning. Atlanta mayoral candidates will participate in a live one-hour debate at 7 p.m. And a prerecorded debate between Atlanta City Council president candidates will air on Nov. 1.

So did anyone distinguish him or herself in these debates? Did anyone watch?

BOTR, Thanks to the digital transition, I couldn't watch them on TV. I'm going to the mayoral debate. You can watch it live on PBA at 7 pm.

This from the AJC article; "Norwood stressed that she is not a Republican, but an Independent. She said she can’t remember whom she voted for for president in the last few elections and can’t recall voting for George W. Bush." Anybody else here who can't remember who they voted for in the past few Presidential elections? Anybody? Not only is Norwood an imbecile, she's a freakin' liar.

@rico: I can recall every presidential vote I ever made. Norwood's "can't remember" comment in the AJC struck me as dishonest, too.

TW Yes, what's with that PBA digital business? My in-home VCR recording expert thought our cable would get PBA as usual, but it didn't.

I agree. Her "no comment" may as well have been "I voted for a Bush three times and Dole and McCain once" In my opinioin, Reed's question to Norwood about Republican ties, and her response, were one of the most interesting parts of the debate.

Kyle - Fresh Loafer favorite - confirmed he has no ideas on how to deal with crime, let alone on how to run the city. Anyone who votes for him might as well abstain. Did anyone feel Reed was hurt by not budging on the two conflict of interest questions thrown his way?(Refusing campaign money from those with City Hall business and getting rid of his brother from the procurement office.) And did anyone understand how he'd disagreed with Shirley about the appalling CFO, Janice Davis? I thought Mary's first answer of the debate, about the $19mm that was $1mm on another report and so forth, showed up her inability to identify what forest she is in. Borders simply sounded mad that Reed and Norwood are ahead in a race that she felt entitled to win. What matters for the election is not my reactions but whether many undecided voters watched and if so how the performances struck them.
