Alex Wan gets nods from former opponents in District 6

Posted by Scott Henry on Mon, Nov 23, 2009 at 11:27 PM

From what we can tell, the District 6 Council race is fairly tight, but Alex Wan has managed to pick up the endorsements of two former opponents.

In recent days, Wan has landed testimonials from both Tad Christian, who came in a close third behind Liz Coyle in the Nov. 3 general election, and Steve Brodie, who also ran for the post in 2005.

On Tuesday, Nov. 24, CL will unveil its own endorsement in the race.

Alex Wan knows the Beltline is off-track and wants to bring it back to its original vision. Liz Coyle has actively joined the developers who only want to line their own greedy pockets and care nothing for transit, parks, affordable housing, public art, or other key aspects of the Beltline.

Interesting how vocal Liz was until she got on ABI Board. Then mum was the word, unless she was touting the virtues of ABI's vision. Since entering the run-off, Alex has shown he is willing to listen to his opponents as well as his proponents. I look forward to working with our new council member, insightful, inclusive, Alex Wan.

How can the D6 race be tight, Scott, when Alex came way ahead of Liz in the first round and when the next two runners up, Tad and Steve, have thrown their support to Alex, (essentially because he's a respectful listener)? I predict he'll whup Liz by 59-41 percent or better.
