The Onion's "Best Comics of Decade" honors Top Shelf

Posted by Curt Holman on Tue, Nov 24, 2009 at 4:15 PM

Marietta's graphic novel publisher Top Shelf Productions represents in the The Onion A.V. Club's "Best Comics of the 00s" feature. The picks for the top 25 graphic novels of the decade include Craig Thompson's Blankets (which gets the pride-of-place lead image), James Kochalka's American Elf and Alex Robinson's Box Office Poison, all Top Shelf titles. Other notable honorees include Y: The Last Man by "Lost" writer Brian K. Vaughn, the memoirs Fun Home by Alison Bechdel and Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi and the Justice League tale New Frontier. No alien zombies with power rings, though.
