Clickable Advent Calendar, Dec. 20

Posted By on Sun, Dec 20, 2009 at 3:13 PM

This year’s non-denominational Clickable Advent Calendar offers a holiday-themed quote of the day, with the source — and maybe a surprise goodie — after the cut. For Dec. 20:

Edmund: "Shall I begin the Christmas story?"

George: "Absolutely! As long it's not that terribly depressing one about the chap that gets born on Christmas day, shoots his mouth off about everything under the sun, and then comes a cropper with a couple of rum coves on a hill in jolly Arab-land."

Edmund: "You mean... Jesus."

George: "Yes, keep him out of it. He always spoils the Xmas atmos."

Edmund Blackadder (Rowan Atkinson) and the Prince Regent George IV ("House's" Hugh Laurie) in "Blackadder's Christmas Carol." It's a parody of "A Christmas Carol" in which Atkinson's Ebenezer Blackadder, the nicest man in Victorian England, chooses to be bad when the spirit of Christmas (Robbie "Hagrid" Coltrane) shows him visions of his wicked ancestors and descendants.
