Time and Place: Jugglers Fest

Getting juggly with it

This photo was taken at the stage during the Groundhog Day Jugglers Fest juggling contest. While most of the time the floor was a buzz with activity, all of this stopped  for the jugglers and public alike to intently watch the contest. As the chaos died down, the performers took to the stage. Depending on where you stand you could watch both the action and the crowd being reflected. This immediately caught my attention. This photo framing the young competitor amid the busy mic stands, flagpoles, props and broken mirrors illustrated a sense of order within disorder. For me it was much like the unique ability jugglers have to control what seems out of control.
