Atlanta cops will soon have a new task: watching shirtless men roller blade through Piedmont Park.

The AJC reports that eight surveillance cameras will be installed in the city's most popular greenspace to keep an eye on crime and nefarious goings-on. Atlanta Police officers stationed at the Zone 5 precinct will monitor the feeds.

The initiatives, one of former Councilwoman Anne Fauver's final projects before she left office in January, was helped along last year after one man was killed — and another stabbed — near Lake Clara Meer after the park closed for the evening.

The cameras, which are funded by Fauver's expense account and matching funds from the Piedmont Driving Club, should be easy to spot thanks to signs. The signs will eventually house biometric scanning stations and DNA swabs. (Kidding, kidding. Surveillance cameras, hooray!)
