Disappointment of the Week: Hawks show Woody” the door”

Mike Woodson may not be panhandling, but he may find it hard to find a job following his stint with the Hawks. Woodson was fired on Friday afternoon.

The Hawks made it official on Friday afternoon that they would be releasing Mike Woodson of his “coaching duties”.

I use thet term loosely as the Woodson-led Hawks were embarrassed in two consecutive playoff appearances and seemingly hit their ceiling of potential.

Woodson leaves Atlanta with a record of 206-286 (11-18 in the playoffs) and few, if any, NBA suitors pining for his services.

Job well done in getting the Hawks to the playoffs again, Mike, but it’s hard to tell how much of that success should be accredited to you instead of the players.

Between your apparent shaving fetish—-be it head, eyebrows or whatever and wherever else—-and your clueless court-side demeanor, it was never quite clear who the head coach truly was.

Woodson’s firing serves as the first step in the Atlanta Hawks’ return to obscurity with Joe Johnson’s departure likely occurring next.

Stay tuned for further details.
