Coriolanus, the tragic hero of the play of the same name, is one of Shakespeare's greatest warriors. The New American Shakespeare Tavern, anticipating its June 5-27 production, challenges audiences to pit Coriolanus against his most unexpected opponents with a Coriolanus Photoshop contest. Participants can download one of four images of J.C. Long as Coriolanus in action and place him alongside anything you can think of. The submission deadline is June 12, and the creator of the winning image will receive four free tickets and a Royal Upgrade. Then the Tavern will have a Caption contest (June 14-26) for that image, the winner of which will get a $50 Tavern gift card. Personally, I've always thought that Coriolanus' themes of warfare and honor lent the play to a Klingon-style concept production, so accordingly, I'd dabble with an image for "K'oriolanus."
