UGA scientist blogging from Gulf Coast oil spill

Samantha Joye and other marine wizards posting regular updates and photos

If you’re interested in firsthand accounts of the Gulf of Mexico oil spill/leak/disaster, your best bet is the Gulf Oil Blog, which is penned by Samatha Joye, a marine scientist from the University of Georgia.

Joye and other scientists are aboard a boat in the Gulf of Mexico and tracking a giant oil plume that’s leaking from the ocean’s surface roughly one mile below. She’s posting regular updates, including photos, of what the team has discovered.
