Georgia's literary scene continues to expand with two debut novelists, Jeffery Stepakoff and Holly LeCraw. Both authors published their first book earlier this year. On Monday, the Georgia Center for the Book has invited both Stepakoff and LeCraw to read their work at the Decatur Library.

LeCraw's novel, The Swimming Pool, has been hailed by Publisher's Weekly and Entertainment Weekly as a complex and fully developed family drama. The story revolves around the legacy of an infidelity in Cape Cod, though many of the characters have backgrounds in Atlanta. LeCraw was born and raised in Atlanta and she now lives outside Boston.

Fireworks Over Toccoa, Stepakoff's novel, is set in a small town in northern Georgia after the second World War. Infidelity plays a role in this story as well, when a young woman waiting for the return of her husband from the war falls for a charming Italian immigrant. Though this is Stepakoff's first novel, he's worked for years as a television writer.

The reading gets started at 7:15 pm. You can find more details at the Georgia Center for the Book.
