Mayor, Beltline officials to make 'significant' announcement on Saturday

They're keeping it hush hush, but here are the details:

WHAT: Media and the community are invited to attend the event, at which a significant development for the Atlanta BeltLine will be announced.

WHO: Mayor Kasim Reed, BeltLine Partnership, Atlanta BeltLine, Inc., and other local dignitaries and members of the community will attend.

WHEN: Saturday, June 19, 2010, 9:30 a.m.

WHERE: Atlanta BeltLine Eastside Trail — located on the Atlanta BeltLine adjacent to the intersection of Somerset Terrace and Angier Springs Road (approximate address 568 Somerset Terrace).

From Downtown: Travel east on North Avenue, after passing City Hall East and crossing under the Atlanta BeltLine Bridge, Somerset Terrace is on the right.

What do ya think? Free jet packs? A roller coaster? Maybe Beltline officials, fueled by the interest and activity the $2.8 billion project's enjoyed the last six months, are moving forward with a bike trail along its northeast segment? Yes, we're going to try and find out.
