Famed memoirist and radio personality David Sedaris announced today that he'll making his way down to Atlanta to read from his forthcoming book, Squirrel Seeks Chipmunk: A Modern Bestiary. While the Cobb Energy Centre is a venue that most authors could only dream of filling, Sedaris' inimitable voice and reading style should pack the seats there on Thurs., October 7.

Sedaris' incisive wit and nasal tone haven't changed much in the course of his career, but Squirrel Seeks Chipmunk: A Modern Bestiary certainly sounds like a departure from his established style. Instead the quotidian stories of hilariously bad jobs and American life, Squirrel Seeks Chipmunk promises to be "a book of acerbic,
outrageously funny fables, featuring animals with unmistakably human failings." Sedaris will in town just days after the book is published on October 5.

Tickets for the reading, which start at $36.50, go on sale next Fri., June 25. More details at Cobb Energy.
