Last week, the lovely Wyatt Williams fed you kids a tasty preview of BurnAway’s fundraiser exhibition Lot and Parcel, which they feted last Saturday night at the Goat Farm. Didn’t make it over there? Lame. But it’s okay - here’s a quick rundown of what you missed.
According to BurnAway honchos Susannah Darrow and Jeremy Abernathy, people were not only shakin’ what their mamas gave ‘em on Saturday night - they were also buying art. Kombo Chapfika, Jason Kofke, R. Land, The Palifox Legend, Whitney Stansell, and others contributed art to a collection of "maps of neighborhoods within Atlanta that hold individual significance for them”, curated by Darrow and Christa Tinsley Spaht. At Saturday night’s party, 12 of the original maps sold. They, along with any unsold maps, will be on display at WonderRoot starting Thursday, June 24.
While they’re still tallying up the final take from Saturday night, Darrow says the organization “did meet our initial goal for this fundraiser, which was to cover the cost of our 501(c)(3) application and some basic operational costs. But, we still have additional needs and wants that we will continue to seek support for throughout the year.”
Oh, hey look! Party pictures!
Ben is hilarious! There were nights that I would be in a funk and then…
Wait did did you get the Christmas gifts or not yet? Writing about gun control…
Funny and interesting. Thanks.

Ben Palmer is a funny dude. I'm saving up to buy his book someday.
Some call it poverty - others call it a simpler life.
