Georgia not nearly as obese as Mississippi

The Atlanta Regional Commission's "Regional Snapshot" this month focuses on Southerners' giant bellies.

Surprisingly, metro Atlantans — where approximately one out of every four or five people say they're obese — look to be much healthier when compared to residents of the great state of Mississippi. (Don't be fooled though, we're still pretty huge.)

Also, note the correlation between socioeconomic status — counties with the black dots have household incomes in the bottom 20 percent of all southeastern counties — and obesity. For all the stats (including county-by-county info), download the full report here.
