Friday, Out on Film screens the new movie Stonewall Uprising, a documentary mash-up chronicling the birth of the gay rights movement, at Landmark Midtown, 7 p.m. ($10). HuffPo's got an interesting podcast with directors Kate Davis and David Heilbroner. The film will screen again Saturday at 7 p.m., and afterward OOF hosts some of those present at last year's Atlanta Eagle Raid to discuss their experiences and parallels between the two events.
A sign-making party for Saturday's “Be Visible, Make a Statement” Rally & Community Photo Shoot (2-3:30 p.m.) immediately follows Friday's screening upstairs at the Independent. Photos from Saturday's rally will also be the source of a community art project to be displayed during October's Pride Festival. More info about Pride and the Stonewall Celebration at its website.
