Why I love living in Decatur

Why do I love living in Decatur?

Because we have the luxury of getting annoyed and angry about things like this:

I am disappointed to say the Yes to Yum Garden at Renfroe Middle School was the victim of some minor vandalism.

Some swiss chard and kale was pulled up by the roots and tossed on the ground.

I love living in Decatur because we have the luxury of being amused by people taking ownership in their neighborhoods. It was annoyance with something almost exactly like this that led Sally Wylde to start the Oakhurst Community Garden.

Dirt and sweat. How luxurious!

I saw a man put items that were clearly not recyclable into the recycling unit outside of the Yogurt Tap downtown and I'm still outraged.

This world's not what it used to be.
