3D backlash: You wouldn't hit a guy with glasses?

Hollywood's 3D trend is getting an increasing amount of blowback, with Roger Ebert, the de facto dean of American film critics, leading the charge. Earlier this year, Ebert posted a much-quoted tweet that read "3D is a distracting, annoying, anti-realistic juvenile abomination to use as an excuse for higher ticket prices." Salon took up the charge last week with a piece on "How bad 3-D is ruining movies." Films like Clash of the Titans and The Last Airbender have benefited from 3-D's inflated ticket prices, but the crappy effects in those films may be the format's worst enemy. My favorite 3-D take-down, however, is this pie chart:
