Daniels, 37, currently works as the associate artistic director of the prestigious Actor's Theatre of Louisville, and the Louisville Courier-Journal explains how a college connection helped lead to Daniels' job:
Lead producer Heather Provost, a former classmate at Florida State University, hired Daniels last year to direct a backers' reading of the play designed to raise funds for the production. Provost said she followed Daniels' career after graduation, and felt his comedic sensibility would mesh well with Under My Skin.
Acclaimed television producer Marcy Carsey ("The Cosby Show," "Roseanne"), Tony Award nominee Jeff Davis ("Rock of Ages"), and Tony winner Steve Traxler ("Hair") are among producers of the show. Under My Skin playwrights Robert Sternin and Prudence Fraser, both veteran television writers, have worked on dozens of primetime comedies, including "Three's Company" and "The Simple Life." They also co-created "The Nanny," which starred Drescher and ran on CBS from 1993-99.
