Sweet Auburn Curb Markets gets stimulus $$

Posted By on Fri, Jul 9, 2010 at 5:13 PM

Hey, remember the federal stimulus?

Well, even though most of the talking about stimulus took place last year, much of the spending was timed to take place during this year - an election year, coincidentally.

Fox 5 reports the Sweet Auburn Curb Market is receiving $800,000. While I would have preferred the money went to the purchase of 160,320 Grindhouse burgers (tax not included), apparently Obama thinks the money should be spent renovating the building. Typical hamburger-hating foreigner.

Incidentally, the lion's share of stimulus money for construction in Georgia (and most other places it seems) has gone to paving and widening roads - including a cool $33.6 million to widen and install a bike lane on Eagles Landing Parkway in Henry County.
