The folks behind Dance Truck have an awesome formula: rent a truck, park it somewhere people will be, and let a choreographer and dance troupe work their magic in this unmistakably unique setting. It doesn't get much more simple than that. Like Lauri Stallings and gloATL, Dance Truck seems to understand how unconventional venues can help shape unique work and broaden the audience's opportunities to engage with it.
Their latest project brings performers DENSE, Blake Beckham, and Gardenhouse Dance to the plants, vegetables, and chickens over at Garden*Hood on Boulevard. DENSE will be performing a work choreographed by Susan Eldridge and Blake Beckham will take cues from Nicole Livieratos' choreography.
The event, which gets started around 5 pm tomorrow, might be the perfect place to begin the evening before heading over to another garden, Karen Tauches' Paradise.
