City Hall sources tell me that Mayor Kasim Reed will be participating in at least the first hour or so of what I'm calling the Great City Hall East Rummage Sale©. Whether that means he'll be running the cash register or acting as something of a Wal-Mart greeter for the presumably hundreds of eager shoppers is something I don't know at this point.

Oh, and I finally got the hours for the event. Beginning Monday, Aug. 23, and continuing through Saturday, Aug. 28, the sale hours will be 9 a.m.-4 p.m. My understanding as of now is that entry will be through the front doors on Ponce. No pushing, please!

No word yet on whether folks will be allowed to camp out the night before to get a good spot in line. But, frankly, if you're sleeping on the sidewalk in front of City Hall East, how would anyone know you're not simply homeless?

What do voting patterns have to do with the great yard sale on Ponce? I'm not getting something here.

NO; http://www.alexwanforatlanta.com/district-…;

Voting patterns matter always. This is another example of bad government; 1st buying City Hall East; then buying new furnature for every fiefdom wwith City money. Lets fix our roads, parks and make are hoods nicer...

Not sure what you election map you are looking at but Reed took all but 4 polling stations South of Ponce - which encompasses the Old 4th Ward......he took every polling station in the 4th Ward......still not sure what that has to do with the article though!
The City Hall East garage sale is an excellent idea - the City sells off a bunch of stuff that otherwise would end up in the trash & eventually in a landfill....and makes a profit? Then once the place is completely vacant, the City has plans to sell the property to a developer for like $35 million....and then the developers turn it into a centerpiece of our 4th Ward neighborood - instead of it becoming a blighted property attracting more homeless & prostitution.....again, I don't see how City residents loose anything in all of this!
Great job by the Mayor & his team - add this to the soon to open Old 4th Ward Park just behind the Masquerade & this part of town is looking better every day!

At tonight's meeting of the Fourth Ward Alliance, the neighborhood association that includes City Hall East, it was announced that Mayor Reed and Councilman Kwanza Hall will be opening the Yard-Sale-to-End-All-Yard-Sales. Everyone was excited!

They've done stories on it, basically its a bunch of crappy office chairs and such. They had some cool pine boxes but they threw them out. Though much bigger its kind of like any yard sale you see in Atlanta - you don't really know for sure what you'll find but you know there will be a lot of crap and a serious risk that you will leave with something that when you get home you'll regret.

As much as i agree with you on him supporting gay marriage, nothing sounds stupider than saying he is my my mayor. Who is your mayor then? Its like when those retard teabagger claim that Obama is not their president? Really?
