Boortz to 95.5 The Beat?!?!

Posted by Andisheh Nouraee on Mon, Aug 16, 2010 at 2:03 PM

WSB talk radio is moving to 95.5 The Beat!!

Does this mean we can look forward to Neal Boortz explaining how California Gurlz are ghetto trash because they spend their welfare checks on bikini tops and Daisy Dukes? And maybe Clark Howard can have Travie McCoy in-studio to talk about how listeners should keep their fives, tens and Bens separate?!?!?

Or maybe not.

Turns outs WSB is taking over the 95.5 FM frequency. The station formerly known as 95.5 The Beat is moving off-air and online.

Boo!

My idea is better.

Isn't there enough Republican bullshit propaganda on the AM dial? Do we really need to put it on the FM dial also?? Just another way to brainwash stupid people with more Republican bullshit.

When I saw this on Facebook, I thought it meant Nil Booretz was going off the air. Wishful thinking.

I had 95.5 as one of my presets so for the first time in years I heard WSB 750 I couldn't believe my ears the talk show host was going on and on about the fact American Europeans have to low a birth rate, one that's below the 2.1 sustainable rate, he worked in a thing about him being at dinner with brickbat and 2 actors and when an elderly couple asked them to quiet down they said why don't communists like freedom of speech - then something about if its liberal loud talk its ok but conservative loud talk is a problem for these liberals. Then he went back to the birth rate issue and said and that leads us to the muslim mosque near ground zero which i'll get to after the commercial break....... how depressing that a major corporation would allow hate talk and fear mongering about the extinction of the Euro Whites. How depressing that most americans apparently fail to distinguish between the 9/11 terrorists and the greater american muslim population. how sad this all is. The only bright side is I now have an available preset button.

Hmm. I also try to distinguish between terrorists and the larger American Muslim population. But how many dozen cases of Sudden Jihad syndrome have we had since 9/11? Cabbie shoots up airline counter, student plows a car into crowd at school, the DC sniper (OK a nut case, but he proclaimed Holy War in his ramblings,) the Fort Hood shooter, immigrant students traveling to training camps, it is a long list. I am now talking Hate. I hate these damn lunatic religious zealot zombie murderers.

By the way, "major corporations" have tried to put liberal talk jocks on the air and, for some reason, no one listens. Boortz is a big success because the people who agree listen and the people who disagree listen. I like his definition of Hate Speech - anything with which a liberal disagrees. If you don't believe this, start paying attention when the H word is deployed like in the above comment.

What about 'em? Let's add up the nut job Christian terror incidents and compare that to the Islamic Supremacist terror incidents. What is it, about 5000 to 1? Your precious Christian terrorist you love to talk about so much is a lone wolf crazy. He has no movement, no support network. As for Islamic terror, hundreds of organizations, millions of followers, a full ideology. There is no comparison and you know it. Funny how liberals hate religion until the subject is the religion of anti-American foes. This hateful religious movement they'll defend because Bush and Cheney fought it.

oydave: Do you want to add up the number of "christain civilians killed by muslims since 9/11" to the number of "muslim civilians killed by christains since 9/11"? Certainly more muslim civilians have been killed by christain (or predominantly judeochristain nations) than vica versa.

How did a long-winded Katy Perry joke become about religion and terrorism?

Seriously - for 5 days I'd been saying to myself I'd better come up with a California Gurlz joke before the song disappears.

WSB gives me my opportunity, then boom it's gets hijacked by terrorism.

Hijacked! Ha! Get it? Nevermind.

Don't worry, Andi, Neal will not disappoint and I did chuckle at your lame joke.

I remember hearing Neal Boortz probably around 1971 when my Dad was listening to him on WRNG. A truly original character and a real pussycat despite his snarky image. I won't miss The Beat at all, although I hate talk taking over the FM band. The radio industry has no one to blame but themselves. They've sucked for years, Clear Channel was the Apocalypse.

Terrorism and talk of it will take over conversations for a long time to come. It's sort of a big deal since a certain ideology took it mainstream in the sixties and grew and nurtured it into a worldwide nutball movement.

Well said.

My aging stepfather fell into the trap of AM talk radio BS. At first, it was funny to him that the hosts could be so outrageous and make such wildly false claims. But slowly, over the years, he actually began to believe all of it and turned into a fearful and bitter old man.

He sits by himself all day watching Fox News now and is generally scared of the world's intentions towards him.

oydave is just one of many of these whiny people who thrive on the cultivation of fear and dislike (that's better than hate right?).

I swear I thought conservatives (and really they aren't they since they are slandering the name and history of the ideas) were supposed to be tough.

Now whenever people call them out for trying to paint another group with broad brush strokes - "all muslims are bad because there are a lot of terrorists who are muslim" - this small but vocal group of folks - represented in this case by Oydave, say they are being unfairly labeled as hate mongers. Ok maybe its fear mongers, maybe its intolerance mongers, maybe its distrust mongers, how about propagators of stereotypes mongers?

Who the F cares, Oy vey! Oydave just recognize what you and the people you enjoy are doing, grow a pair and deal with it dude!

I'm sorry I am at a loss for how this view of this center being built 2 blocks away from where the trade centers were equates to support for the 9/11 terrorists or a slap at the 9/11 victims or this country is just staggering.

Oy vey Oydave! Oy vey Oydave! Oy vey Oydave! Oy vey Oydave! Oy vey Oydave! Oy vey Oydave! Oy vey Oydave! Oy vey Oydave!

Chanting is a good way to alter your consciousness. Chanting my name will probably lead to a catatonic state.

Most popular way to argue with me? Dave you suck! Chant that, Pilgrim.

Here's a good idea for a talk show. Andisheh Nouraee and Erich von Hoesler crossfire. Whoooeee, now that would be entertainment.

Libertarian views on FM! Awesome! Is he going to play music too? That would be odd. Clearchannel is ruining radio. Andisheh vs Von Hessler! I would pay a nominal fee to charity for a seat in the audience for that!

Alas - if only I could get Van Jones, Donald Berwick, Anita Dunn, Cass Sunstein, Ron Bloom, Mark Lloyd, Kevin Jennings, John Holdren or David Axelrod - you know all my favorites and closest freinds to get on the FM around here - then I would be complete.

The Beat, or should I say "The Repeat", was a terrible radio station. They played the same songs over and over and over and hardly added any new music. It wasn't a very good station - no wonder it's ratings drastically dropped. I used to request songs other similar stations around the country would play, but The Beat would never play them. I would always get the same response: "We are in the process of testing those songs and when we get results we will hopefully add them to our playlist". Well, they never added the songs - no wonder the station suffered. Your tests suck!!! Atlanta Top 40 radio is the worst. Now all we have is lame Q100 (Star94 is a joke) and confused 1057 The Groove (which is nothing like it's sister station KTU which is way better). How can Charlotte, NC or Greenville, SC have better top 40 stations than Atlanta?!

This story only serves to distract from the bigger news: that 97.1 "THE RIVER" plays the same 50 songs over and over, all day, and that you'd have to be at least mildly insane to enjoy a playlist akin to repetition-torture.

It may not be as prominent now... but look through history! What religion has the highest rates of murder, rapes, and other violent crimes in the name of "God?"

Hint: It's not Islam.

Hey DM - what religion is still doing all that while the others stopped hundreds of years ago? All Muslims aren't terrorists, but practically all terrorists are Muslim. Now go away and let Andi have his radio column.

If a group of 1.5 billion people were actually "seeking to destroy the West" we'd currently have a global holy war of epic proportions with wholesale slaughter on both sides.

Where is that going on, Dave? Outside of your head, I mean.

I don't live thousands of years ago. I live now.

No religion should have a shot at tyranny in this day and age.

No one said 1.5 billion people are seeking to destroy the West. What I said was that a fraction of those 1.5 billion are seeking this and that fraction amounts to millions. I guess it's OK if there are only a few million after us. Check it out Nad, how many dozens of countries worldwide are involved in Moslem insurgencies or wars with Moslem radicals? It IS epic.

This war is worse, and more difficult to fight, than The Big One. One of the difficulties is that a lot of folks won't even admit that it is a war, or worse, that we are the bad guys.

I used to listen to 95.5 at first i was upset regarding them moving off air, but considering the way our nation is going, I'm happy at least someone is standing up and trying to make a statement. I'm tired of all the people in the world living off my taxes. i run a business an i hear 24/7 of how people are living off the government because they refuse to get off their butt and get a job. I'm tired of spending my money to take care of them. I understand if you dont have a job and your trying to do your best. But look at our nation. its gone down hill. and we as people have become lazy and always wanting others to take care of us.
And if we dont do anything about it soon, we are all going to be screwed. Like a shirt i seen. ( i'll keep my Money and my Guns, you keep the Change)
And almost all wars have been over Religion. not just Christian and Muslims. ALL of them...
