Mayor Kasim Reed this morning said the City of Atlanta had agreed to pay $4.9 million to the family of Kathryn Johnston, the 92-year-old English Avenue resident who in 2006 was gunned down by Atlanta cops in a botched drug raid.

According to WSB-TV, the city will pay $2.9 million this fiscal year. The remainder will be paid out next year.

WSB-TV:

Lawyers have been negotiating for seven months and reached the settlement Friday, Reed said.

The Atlanta City Council will approve the settlement at their 1 p.m. meeting Monday.

Reed said the city does not admit guilt.

More details to come.

A paltry sum of money -- and it's very disappointing that city won't acknowledge wrongdoing.

This is sick. The city of Atlanta is not the council, WE are the city. WE are paying the family. WE are pissed about this incident. Mayor Reed has only stated that WE will pay them and HE will not admit fault. Sickening

THE COCHRAN FIRM DEFRAUDED KATHRYN JOHNSTON'S ESTATE OF $13.1 MILLION. The Cochran Firm announced on 11/21/07 that it filed suit for Sarah Dozier, Johnston's niece, for $18 million, but the suit was NEVER filed. Since Johnnie Cochran's death, The Cochran Firm works for government entities and NWO companies behind its clients backs to prevent or limit damages to its real clients - the government and big business. NO lawsuit was filed in Georgia Superior Court like The Cochran Firm claimed on Nov. 21, 2007. Then on 1/9/08, The Cochran Firm pretended to "REMOVE" the lawsuit (that was never actually filed and served on defendants) to United States District Court. Read about THE COCHRAN FIRM FRAUD online (Google that). See the story at my blog - http://alturl.com/f8jj8 - What did you think caused Mayor Reed's emergency meeting about ethics today?
