"Drug gangs often demand payment from migrants trying to cross the border and sometimes kidnap them, holding them hostage while demanding money from relatives in the United States or their home countries."
The murder of these 72 humans is very sad but unfortunately this illustrates a point I've said before. These fellow human beings are not coming here for kicks and giggles or to drop a baby, they are coming here because of the poverty or persecution they face at home, their willingness to risk their lives making the trip and live in a country where they are second class citizens because making $7.50 an hour represents a chance to help their family and hopefully make a better life should weigh on everyone's heart and mind.
Its a tough trip over, for sometime when the appropriate time comes up I've asked about the journey of those I meet - and its much like its portrayed in some movies like Sin Nombre, usually there is a point when someone at gunpoint demands all money - sometimes people get held until more money is sent by family and friends - the more unfortunate ones, well unfortunately they aren't here to share their story.
I know we can't save the world, but surely just saying stick everyone on a bus and ship them home and build a wall isn't the answer. Its so sad, which makes the tone of the current debate in this country so depressing.
Most of the Religious groups recognize this travesty against humanity though while many Tea Party supporters and supportees often jump at the chance to bring up their superior god fearing nature and claim that the U.S. is a "Christian Nation" on this they ignore the calls for humanity by groups such as the Catholic Church or Southern Baptists and play the issue as only satan himself could.
This trend of demonizing our suffering fellow humans to the south, and now the demonetization of Muslims NYC Mosque makes is frightening.
Perhaps I'm being overly dramatic, you'll have to excuse me I made the mistake of flashing through a page of the comments to the linked article on yahoo - unfortunately there are to many comments like Mark's who wrote "we can now send home 72 illeagals home . thank you cartels make some more room."
Secure the Border now to protect border towns and the rest of America and create a path to citizenship for illegal immigrants.
