As goes ‘Machete,’ so goes ‘Hobo With a Shotgun?’
The fake trailer ‘Hobo With a Shotgun’ is being made into a real movie starring Rutger Hauer.
This weekend marks the release of Machete, Robert Rodriguez’s real film based on his trailer for then-imaginary Mexploitation film of the same name, attached to the double feature Grindhouse. Hobo With a Shotgun is even more “meta” than Machete, being based on fake shlock film trailer that won Robert Rodriguez’s SXSW Grindhouse Trailer contest and was attached to some screenings of the original double feature. Rutger Hauer stars as the title character in the real version of Hobo With a Shotgun, which now has a real trailer. (The original trailer is after the jump.)
