Christopher Nolan's unlikely blockbuster Inception depicted Leonardo DiCaprio's team of dream-thieves pilfering intellectual property from people's subconsciousness. It's almost ridiculously appropriate that Inception itself burrowed in the psyches of its audiences. Perhaps the film contained its own hidden message, "Make mash-up trailers!" which resulted in a generally entertaining meme for the summer of 2010, comparable to the Brokeback Mountain mash-ups of a few years back. The internet delivered Inception-style versions of Up, Toy Story 3, The Matrix, Total Recall, Jurassic Park, The Simpsons Movie, Avatar, Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, , and Team America: World Police, not to mention a clever, live-action version of "Dora the Explorer" (which could've carried the idea even further). My favorites are the ones that combine the original films' dialogue with the music and beats of Inception, including these of National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, Space Jam, Superbad and the best of the lot, NurvTV's Dumb & Dumber. I'm just amazed they didn't link the Inception soundtrack foghorn with the "most annoying sound in the world" line.
