Citing his daughter's affinity for Indianapolis' chicken nuggets among other things, John Clark — one of the three final candidates to become chief of Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport — has withdrawn his name from the running.

According to the AJC, Clark released a statement saying the following:

“After much thought and discussion with my family, I have decided to withdraw my name from further consideration for the position of General Manager of Hartsfield-Jackson International airport. Being considered for a position of this magnitude is truly an honor and a valuable experience. However, I am committed, along with our valuable employee team, to delivering a world class airport here [in Indianapolis]"

"Last evening, my 5-year old daughter commented how much she likes Indianapolis, her school, the airport and the chicken nuggets there."

As we reported yesterday, word got out just last week that Clark was arrested in Florida in February for driving 135 mph in a 70 mph zone while on "city business," a.k.a. schmoozing with airline reps at the Super Bowl.
