Councilman C.T. Martin responds to deadly Texaco shooting

District 10 councilmember C.T. Martin issued a terse if stern statement regarding the Sept. 13 shooting of three people — a 19-year-old pregnant woman, a two-year-old child and a 19-year-old man, who died of his wounds — at a Texaco station on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in Southwest Atlanta.

In a press release Martin said:

“In response to this heinous crime which took place in broad daylight on a busy thoroughfare, I have requested that our police department increase patrols of the area. Crime of any kind will not be tolerated."

According to periodic updates from the APD, the male victim, Ladeddric Love, pulled into the gas station at around 1:15 p.m. on Monday afternoon. A silver Honda pulled into the lot shortly thereafter, and a black male got out of that car with an assault weapon and opened fire on Love's vehicle, hitting Love, as well as the pregnant woman and toddler, both of whom were passengers in Love's car. Love died shortly afterward.

As the homicide investigation continues, the cops are keeping mum, though they've said they don't believe the shooting was a random act, but don't have a motive.

Martin is asking that citizens with any information call Crime Stoppers Atlanta at (404) 577- 8477.
